y Mom brought me to Franklin, NC in 1974; she insisted that my father buy a tiny stick-built cabin on Matlock Creek Road in Snow Hill Falls, way out in Cowee Valley. I was only six years old, but I noticed that Mom and Dad were happier in the mountains than they were back home in Florida. We didn’t have a television, or video games, so we played in the creek, fished in the pond and played board games. As I grew older, I came to the mountains to hike and fish and take the most beautiful scenic drives I had ever seen. When I was old enough to buy my own house in North Carolina I bought a tiny stick-built cabin off Dowdle Mountain Road, that was 30 years ago. I have been a Real Estate Agent and Broker for 40 years and I have been in the mortgage business for more than 20 years.
